i woke up by a fone call from my former teammate heidi.. she was asking me if i was interested in playing today. a mini tournament in Pilar with her UP friends. i agreed. i missed playing basketball. i mean with the referees and all.
i got there at around 130. enough time to dress up and warm up :) i was scouting our opponents. marking who needs to be marked. it started fine. but i saw some sneaky hits from the other team. so at first i dint mind it. after the first quarter they were leading. so it was my turn.
first possession, i was boxing out this player and before i could jump for the rebound, she elbowed me right in the eye! :| i was running up and down the court with one blurry vision.
ive been playing basketball since grade 5. and i was never ever elbowed in the eye. she literally aimed for my eye and just stuck her pointy elbow at it :| by the end of the third quarter my eye was already aching. we were still down. most of my teammates where also complaining of the lack of calls on our part. our opponent were tripping us, holding and tugging our jerseys. how can you move if someone is holding your shorts. and the refs were just blind about everything!
i was really pissed. nearing the end of the third quarter. i was on a one on one thing with the person that elbowed me. i was determined to block the hell out of her. i watched her move and timed my hand. by the time she took off for her layup i jumped and block the ball hard. i heard the people first awwwed when i hit the ball then cheered when i bounced it off her hand. literally blocking it making it bounce back on the floor. but then her teammate caught it and still scored. i was happy and pissed at the same time. sayang ung block ko! they still scored!! Elaine was saying sorry for not defending the trailer but it was okay. it happens. it wasn't her fault. the one trailing her was tripping her when she was runnign.it was either catching up to the trailer and tripping and maybe injuring herself or just let that big lady get the ball. soo it was okay. i dont want her to get injured.
the last quarter. we decided to play hard. we did everything. we defended well. i got another big block! but this time i slapped the ball out preventing another trailer from getting the ball since i was surrounded by them.
they dint score a single point that quarter. but we lost by 3 points. 29-32 :| :( sad but what the hell.
it was just disappointing that we were treated that way. was it because we were a visiting team that the whistle wasn't on our side?

sooo after the game. i took a bath at home and got ready for our Soderno Foodtrip. 

parked a ATC, bought some thingies first and went to Soderno.. gaaaaaaaawd i wanted to try everything!! but the kebab was really calling my name.. so i had the kebabs and the mini tacos. cha had the sandwich and pasta. :) it was pretty good. im still craving for some cake and stuffs there.. mmmmmm.. SODERNO weekends!!! wuhoooooooooooo!!
